In a statement released by Chief Abimbola Omotade, the Obanla of Ijero Kingdom and Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, the cultural festival is set to take place on 18 August 2025 at the historic Erekesan Market Square.
The statement added that the Owa Ajero of Ijero Kingdom, Oba Adebayo Adewole, would serve as the Chief Host for the occasion, saying, “This second edition of the Ita Ajero Festival promises a powerful showcase of tradition, community, and cultural pride.”
The statement reads, “A highlight of the celebration will be a live performance by legendary Fuji artist, Dr Saheed Osupa, alongside traditional rites, dance, and artistic displays reflecting the rich heritage of Ijero and the Yoruba people.
