THE Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SSAP-SDGs), Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, has described former Minister of Industry, Chief Mrs Onikepo Akande, as an embodiment of strength, resilience and humility.
Orelope-Adefulire, who is a former deputy governor of Lagos State, said this in a statement to celebrate the life and legacy of Chief Mrs Akande who attained the age of 80 on Tuesday.
The presidential aide noted that Akande, who is also a former president of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, had dedicated her life to uplifting those around her, demonstrating “unwavering integrity, compassion and grace at every step.”
According to Orelope-Adefulire, Chief Mrs Akande, known for her transformative contributions, has touched countless lives locally and internationally, with her vision and commitment to public service.
“Chief Mrs Akande embodies strength, resilience and humility. Her journey serves as an inspiring example of what can be achieved when one leads with empathy and purpose.
“Akande’s leadership in business and governance and her dedication to humanity have left an indelible mark on society. She has not only reached great heights but also created opportunities for others to thrive, earning her the admiration of many.
“I honour her achievements, her unwavering faith and her devotion to making the world a better place. Chief Mrs Akande’s legacy reminds us that true greatness lies in a life lived with compassion and selflessness,” the former deputy governor said.
