Ondo PDP chieftain gifts notebooks to students

Published by

As part of his contributions towards quality learning and education development, the secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ondo State, Olujimi Oluseye, has distributed thousands of notebooks to pupils and students across 10 wards in the Ifedore Local Government area of the state.

He gave them the notebooks at the headquarters towns of the wards, and no fewer than 1,500 students in both public and private primary and secondary schools in the local government area benefited.

Speaking on the donation in a statement, Oluseye, who is popularly known as ‘Digital Secretary,” explained that the book’s donation was to lessen the financial burden on students and their parents as students have just resumed after Easter break.

He declared that there was no party or religious affiliation attached to the gifts, as beneficiaries were only known to be from the local government area.

According to him, education is important not only to those who go to school but also to society at large, and that is why it is better to help every child, particularly those from less privileged homes, have access to quality education and learning materials.

He said he believes that it is not only the rich people who should give back to society but everyone who has the spirit of giving, no matter how little. He added that investment in children’s education is a lifelong one.

Oluseye, however, promised that he would not relent in supporting not only the children’s education in Ondo State generally but also their welfare in his private capacity as much as he could.

He advised the beneficiaries to focus on their studies and also be law-abiding, adding that there is no shortcut to success.
