He said “based on sustained and credible Intelligence our Antivandal Squad got a wind of some illegal dealers in Petroleum products and swung into action monitoring the waterways for about two weeks.
“However, luck ran out of them as they were sighted and arrested along Abereke area.
“The first three drums were loaded with 40 drums of 200 liters each while the fourth drums contained 36 drums of 200 liters of AGO, totaling 39,200 liters of suspected adulterated automotive gas oil (AGO)”
The suspects confessed to the offence said they were contracted to carry out the operation by one Adeyemi Ogunkade to deliver the product in four boats loaded with AGO.
They disclosed that they took off from Delta state and headed to Ilaje Local Government area to deliver the adulterated before they were nabbed by men of the NSCDC.
