Ondo guber: Oke promises to sustain qualitative governance

A foremost aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the governorship election primary for Ondo State, Chief Olusola Oke, has promised to sustain qualitative governance.

He said he would prioritise people’s welfare and infrastructural development if given the opportunity to lead the state.

He said, “I am making it known to you emphatically today that if you vote me as the candidate of the party and I am ultimately elected the governor of Ondo state, I will surely bring good governance to you.”

The development comes some hours after the APC chieftain picked Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms at the Party’s National Secretariat, Abuja.

However, a political group in Ondo state, the Omoluabi Coalition Group (OCG) has assured the people of the state that legal luminary and grassroots politician administration will give priority to the welfare and security of citizens.

Speaking after Oke picked his form at the party Secretariat in Abuja, the Coordinator of OCG, Prince Idowu Ilara, said Oke was coming into the race to redefine governance architecture in the Sunshine State.

According to Prince Ilara, Oke will be coming with lots of experience, unblemished antecedents, people-centric credo, and Total Quality Leadership (TQL) governance deliverables.

He maintained that the kind of governor the people of the state need is one with vision and commitment to service the people.

According to him, “Ondo State needs a leader like Chief Oke, who is blessed with vision, direction and sense of commitment and Oke is not just coming to fill any gap but to serve the people.

“What we believe is a governor who will leave behind a good legacy. whether we like it or not, Ondo State people need a dogged fighter with a mission, direction and vision who will be able to change the narrative of our dear state.

“I believe that his government will open opportunity towards tapping our minerals resources, which will even generate employment to reduce criminality in our state and to generate income for our people.”

Also speaking, on behalf of the Omoluabi Coalition Group (OCG), a pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, the Oba of Yoruba Community in Mpape District of Abuja, Oba Ilufemiloye said the decision of the sociocultural group to throw its weight behind the candidacy of Oke was hinged on the fact that he possesses the better resume among all aspirants and remains a man that is generally loved by the masses.

He described Oke as the best candidate for the APC governorship election in the state, saying Oke remains the best among all the contenders for the seat of governor.

According to him, Oke is a grassroots politician and widely accepted by the three senatorial districts of the state and said the affairs of the state cannot be managed by someone who lacks the requisite experience in governance and leadership.
