The Ondo State Mandate Elders Forum has declared its confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure a landslide victory in the 2027 general elections.
Rising from a meeting in Akure, the forum’s facilitator, Chief Ademola Ijabiyi, said Ondo remains a stronghold of the President and will deliver “absolute figures” in the next election.
Ijabiyi said, “Ondo is Tinubu’s base. We have nearly two million registered voters. We should not settle for percentages; we should deliver in numbers.
“Our elders remain political influencers in their communities, and we are determined to mobilise that strength.”
Ijabiyi commended the President for his appointments and ongoing projects in Ondo State, stressing that the state was “as good as won” for Tinubu.
He urged APC elders to embrace constructive criticism, describing their roles as trainers, mentors, and counsellors for younger party members.
In his remarks, forum leader Chief Erastus Akeju called for unity among party stakeholders, warning that internal clashes at the grassroots could weaken support.
Akeju said, “We must do everything to ensure President Tinubu wins higher than before across the 18 local government areas of this state.”
He further described Tinubu as a Yoruba politician whose political progress should be defended and promoted, urging members to support APC representatives from the unit level to the federal structure.
Other elders at the gathering advised aggrieved members to bury their differences in the overall interest of the party ahead of 2027.
The meeting drew prominent political figures from across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State, including former Chief Judge Justice Sehinde Kumuyi; first female Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu; former Commissioner for Education, Pastor Femi Agagu; former House of Representatives member, Hon. Mayowa Akinfolarin; former State PDP Chairman, Hon. Ebenezer Alabi; Chief Korede Duyile; Chief Bailey Arohunmolase; Chief Femi Bakare; Senator Yele Omogunwa; Chief Olabisi Johnson; Princess Bukky Abike Oluderu; former Deputy Speaker, Hon. Samuel Aderoboye; Chief Bode Sunmonu; and Hon. Nimbe Tawose.
