Ondo APC passes vote of no confidence on State Chairman

THE Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Hon. Isaacs Kekemeke has come under fire as State Executive Council of the Party in the state on Thursday, passed a vote of no confidence on him.

This was contained in a statement signed by the state Publicity Secretary of the Party, Abayomi Adesanya, and alleged Kekemeke of neglecting his responsibilities as the state chairman of the party.

Adesanya said in the statement that “the State Executive Committee of the APC in Ondo State, on this day, June 1st, 2017, unanimously passed a vote of no confidence on the State Chairman, Hon. Isaacs Kekemeke.

“The action became imperative for failing to discharge his responsibilities, neglect and dereliction of duty, among other offenses.

“This is in compliance with Article 21(D) (vi), of the Constitution of the APC, (October 2014 as amended).”

He however said a three man fact finding committee has been set up by the party to investigate the action of Kekemeke while the state Deputy Chairman, Mr. Ade Adetimehin, has been empowered to act as the state chairman.

According to Adesanya, the state deputy Chairman, Adetimehin will act as the state chairman of the party pending the outcome of report of the three man disciplinary committee.

The three man disciplinary committee included: Abayomi Adesanya as the Chairman of the committee, Saka Yusuff, Secretary, and Rasheed Badmus as member of the committee.

All efforts to speak with the embattled Chairman of the Party were not successful as his mobile phone was switched off.

One of Kekemeke aides who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity described the exercise as laughable saying the embattled chairman will respond at the appropriate time.
