True federalism underpins Nigeria’s metamorphosis into a “Black African Tiger.” President Buhari is exhibiting qualities of statesmanship by stoking and building a stronger fire in the furnace fashioning the wheels of the vehicle that will take Nigeria to the next level. Now that the states provide the resources that sustain the Federal Government, they automatically become the geese that lay the golden eggs. This is certainly a coup; the general calamity and confusion that made Nigeria to be ranked the “World’s Poverty Capital.” Expectedly, the purest ore to be mined from the furnace of federalism includes but is not limited to stability, rapid socioeconomic development, tax reforms to promote rapid economic development, education sector reforms etc.
How I was raped by COZA Pastor Abiodun Fatoyinbo as a teenager, Busola Dakolo alleges
I have no illusions whatsoever about the possibility of free education up to the university level. This assumption is not far-fetched if we curb our deep-rooted passion for greed, selfishness and corruption. We are all not serious about taxation, everyone is guilty.
Taxation will fund education if millions of individuals not yet captured in the taxation net are hauled in. The poor in Nigeria have been subjected to the most terrible abuse imaginable by politicians. Education will liberate and take them to the top of the heap. Without education, the poor will remain docile and in captivity.
