Olukoyede’s complaint about bribe-taking EFCC investigators

The chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ola Olukoyede has lamented the craze for gratification and request for bribes by some of the commission’s investigators. He cautioned the perpetrators to discontinue such immoral acts or face sanction. This sort of message is one that is not new to a large part of Nigerians, as they have heard it several times over and over again.

It will be a great advantage to the Nigerian government if action can be taken against this bad habit within the EFCC as this would teach a lot of people both within and without the body a lesson.

Nigerians have actually heard enough and all they want is action!

We appreciate the EFCC chairman for his courage to call for transparency within his organisation, but more can be done. Those who are corrupt should be brought to book immediately.

EFCC is an institution that Nigerians at large still believe in. In order not to allow that support to go down the drain, we encourage the EFCC chairman to take necessary actions towards putting corrupt officials in check by eradicating them from the organisation. After eradicating bad eggs from the institution, we can fully trust him and his workforce to deal with corruption in Nigeria.
