The National Old Students Association of Christ African Grammar School, Ilesa, Osun State, has expended N13 million on renovating the school hall as its contribution to making the learning environment more conducive for students.

The National President of the association, Mr. Kunle Bamgbose, revealed this at a press conference on Thursday during a one-week program marking the school’s 60th anniversary in Ilesa. He stated that the association took this step to encourage effective learning and academic assimilation in an ideal setting.

Mr. Bamgbose also mentioned that several other projects undertaken by the association are in progress, including the establishment of a science laboratory for the school.

According to him, “Our gesture is to give back to our alma mater and contribute to the school’s advancement, encouraging quality education that will enable students to become independent both now and in the future.”

“In fact, I must emphasize that the association is happy to give back to the school that shaped us. There was a time when we were in the same position as these students, and we must work tirelessly to make learning easier for them.”

He, however, sought cooperation from alumni members to strengthen the school and make it second to none among other secondary schools in the country.

Bamgbose also urged parents to be good role models for their children and to instill the right values that will make them productive in life. He advised students to be diligent and dedicated to their studies to excel in life.

The president noted that good parenting plays a crucial role in shaping children’s futures. He condemned negative behaviors that could harm their development and urged students to steer clear of such acts. While acknowledging the school’s role in guiding students, he emphasized that parental influence is even more essential in this regard.

Regarding the school’s 60th anniversary, the president expressed appreciation to the alumni for their unwavering commitment to transforming the school. He expressed optimism that, in the near future, more contributions would be made to further elevate the institution.

He also encouraged teachers to inspire their students, instill discipline, and promote values such as dedication and perseverance to help shape their futures.

Bamgbose further appealed to students to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to their studies at all times.

Meanwhile, many old students of the school attended the event.
