The governor’s aide has urged the Senate president to force the erring senators to voluntarily vacate his seat or be ready for a recall by people of his senatorial district.
The call came in a press statement signed by Dr Oghenesivbe, who’s also the President of Agbon Peace and Economic Transformation Initiative (APETRI) and Executive Assistant to Governor Okowa on Communications and made available to Nigerian Tribune on Friday in Warri.
He accused Senator Omo-Agege of displaying immaturity and mediocrity, saying such attitude has constituted a terrible and unthinkable embarrassment to the entire Urhobo nation and by extension Delta State.
According to him, the apology tendered by the Senator on the floor of the Senate, which was televised live, further revealed the unstable character of Senator Agege.
“The entire Urhobo Nation of Delta Central in Delta State was thrown into unexpected pathetic mourning, weeping and agony as they watched their confused and blabbing senator tender worthless apology after he goofed and wailed like a man without his thinking cap; swallowed up in absolute attention seeking melodrama over reordering of election sequence by NASS thereby bringing shame and disgrace to Delta Central Senatorial district.
“It’s unthinkable to watch Senator Agege play reckless politics with the image and dignity of Urhobo Nation as Senator representing Delta Central.
“A thick-cloud of shame and disappointment hovered over the land as we watched helplessly the fumbling and wobbling of a man who is supposed to be a senior lawyer and former Secretary to Delta State Government. So sad!
“Agege ought to know that this is not the first time election sequence was reordered in Nigeria. He ought to consult the constitution to know that the National Assembly is saddled with the responsibility of making laws for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC); laws for good governance in Nigeria, which is why the Electoral Act remains the brainchild of NASS.

“Senator Agege ought to know that the mere reordering of the elections sequence does not amount to NASS interfering with the functions of INEC, rather it acted within the confines of its constitutional assigned responsibilities and INEC is bound to adjust its timetable to conform with the new sequence legislated upon by the National Assembly.
“Agege ought to know that the NASS represents the collective interests of Nigerians; and that it will amount to futile hunting for him to engage in an attention-seeking venture and cheap publicity by gambling and dabbling into profitless politics of self-destruction.
“Agege ought to probe his conscience to know why the Presidency and Buhari supporters are jittery over the reordering of the election sequence; if they are pretty sure that Mr President has done well for Nigerians to warrant his re-election in 2019.
“He goofed for not pitching his tent with the majority decision but decided to hang himself alongside few other stomach infrastructure senators.
“We call on the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, not to sweep the odious sins of Agege under the carpet because of the petty and crafty apology tendered.
“Delta Central has been disgraced openly to the entire world and the clueless senator must, of a necessity, suffer some severe punishments for his childish rantings on the floor of the Senate.
“We are thinking seriously of organising a massive protest to the Senate and drum up support for the immediate recall of Senator Agege.
“We shall comply and meet the conditions set out for the recall of Agege to avoid further shame and embarrassment.”
Oghenesivbe warned that the people of Delta Central Senatorial District will not fold their hands and watch Senator Omo-Agege further rubbish their collective reputation on the altar of the gutter and narrow politics.
