Okowa says Delta witnessing economic boom

GOVERNOR Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has said the Effurun and Warri axis of Delta State will witness tremendous development in the next couple of years following the return of industrialists to the area.

The Governor who was speaking at the commissioning ceremony of Robinson Gbagi Mall and 18 pumps Falcon Bay Petrol Station at Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State,  stated that the good days were back again for Uvwie, Warri and environs as the people had not only embraced peace but, were  encouraging investors to the area.

He observed that the location of Effurun and Warri had made the twin city to be economic nerve centre of the state and commended the traditional ruler of Uvwie, HRM Emmanuel Sideso, Abe I for ensuring that his subjects imbibed peace.

“Uvwie is positioned to be the most commercial centre in Delta State, our youths should continue to maintain the peace and be receptive of visitors, peace, friendly environment, attract investors and with such, jobs are created for the youths and the area will continue to witness growth,” the Governor said.

While congratulating Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi,  Chairman, Falcon Bay Energy limited, on constructing the shopping mall, he urged traditional rulers, youths and all Deltans to continue partnering and supporting his administration, asserting, “we will continue to remain proactive and accountable to the people.”

Chairman of the occasion, Chief Edwin Clarke commended Governor Okowa’s administration for creating the enabling environment for economic activities to thrive in the state and called for continous peace and unity in the Effurun and Warri axis of the state for industrialists to return to the area.

HRM Abe I, also, used the occasion mark his birthday and expressed joy that Uvwie is peaceful and always ready to welcome investors while Olorogun Gbagi thanked Governor Okowa for creating the enabling environment for socio-economic activities to witness a boom in the state.
