AHEAD of general elections, Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta has reassured citizens of the state that his administration would continue to provide good and qualitative leadership to the people of the state.
Okowa said his government was committed to ending poverty in the state through its various empowerment schemes.
He gave the assurance at the continuation of the Delta People’s Democratic Party (PDP) campaign rallies in Patani, the administrative headquarters of Patani Local Government Area.
The governor urged the mammoth crowd that gathered to be “strong and courageous because Delta belongs to all of us”.
He urged them to vote massively for the PDP from the presidential level to the House of Assembly in the forthcoming general elections.

“We have done many road projects in Patani Local Government and many other infrastructural projects are ongoing.
“I am happy with the peace in Patani, we must stay together as one family by voting PDP all the way.
“Do not allow anybody to harass you, be strong and courageous this land belong to all of us, nobody can intimidate us.
“We will triple our youth and women empowerment as well as increase the number of widow beneficiaries in every ward.
” We will continue to work toward the unity of our people,” Okowa said.
Mr Solomon Funkekeme, the Director-General, Delta PDP Campaign Organisation urged the people to vote massively for the party at all levels.
“I want you to improve on your voting performance, the government will continue to provide dividends of democracy to you. Embark on house to house campaign to woo more electorates for the party,” he said.
Also, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, Chairman, Delta PDP Campaign Committee urged the people to unite and vote for PDP.
“We must unite and to deliver the umbrella at all level,” he said.
The Chairman, Delta PDP, Mr Kingsley Esiso urged not to vote for the opposition party.
” Do not cast your vote for the person we have been voting against in the state, we don’t what he is looking for.
“It is turn by turn, let it go round then we can talk and he said no,” he said.
The incumbent senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, James Manager assured Okowa that the Ijaws in Delta would vote massively for the PDP.
The campaign train had earlier in the day moved to Bomadi, the headquarters of Bomadi Local Government Area where the governor sought their support.
Sen Okowa was accompanied by his Wife Dame Edith Okowa, Deputy Governor Kingsley Otuaro, Delta PDP Chairman, Kingsley Esiso and other dignitaries.
