The Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS) is set to generate N135.4bn in revenue in the new year.
This is just as the agency revealed that it generated over N35.9billion between January and October this year.
Consultant to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Revenue Generation and Head of OGIRS, Kunle Adeosun disclosed this while defending the agency’s 2020 Budget proposal at the State House of Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta on Tuesday.

Adeosun who appeared before the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation led by Olakunle Sobukanla said the revenue was expected to be generated through tax investigations, personal and road taxes, withholding tax and direct assessment as well as consumption tax amongst others.
Adeosun stated that there are a lot of ongoing transformations in the state that will boost revenue generation adding that the proposed revenue target was realistic
While explaining that N3.6billion had been earmarked for recurrent expenditure, he said N330million would go for capital expenditure in 2020.
Also, the State Ministry of Finance, Office of the Accountant-General, Debt Management Office, Ministry of Budget and Planning amongst others defended their budget estimates before the 2020 budget defence was rounded off.
