The Ogun State Water Corporation Board has sought the assistance of the management of the corporation in addressing revenue leakages to enhance the quality of water supply to residents of the state.
The Chairman of the Board, Hon Johnson Olu-Fatoki, made the plea during an inaugural meeting with the management of the corporation, held at its headquarters recently.
Olu-Fatoki expressed concerns over the substantial amount of money being spent on the corporation and what the government receives in return as revenue.
At the strategic meeting, which had in attendance the Special Adviser to the Governor on Water, Hon Damilola Otubanjo, the chairman, promised to work hand in hand with the management by turning around the business fortune of the corporation, in line with the mandate of Governor Dapo Abiodun in transforming the establishment and ensuring quality water supply to homes.
While assuring that the Board would partner with the private sector to tackle some of the challenges confronting the corporation, especially in the area of technical support.
The Chairman said the Board would reposition the corporation in the interest of government and residents, stating that the team would visit various water schemes and facilities of the corporation across the state.
He assured the management of the readiness of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration to give the needed support to ensure the corporation delivers on its mandate of providing portable water for the people in the state
Otubanjo informed the new Board of the management team’s readiness to work together in achieving the government’s mission and vision for the agency.
The management, according to her, will ensure the installation of prepaid meters for every customer, as part of measures being taken to prevent wastages and generate more revenue for the corporations.
Other board members of the corporation who attended the strategic inaugural meeting included Akeran Jimoh, Engr. Femi Oyebanjo, Hon. Gafar Balogun, Hon. Omowunmi Adewale, and Mrs. Ganiyat Abiola Busari
