Nigerians have revealed that love is not enough for marriage.
Responding to a post made by Tribune Online across all social media platforms, Nigerians have emphasized the significance of additional factors beyond mere affection in marital relationships.
They revealed that financial stability, commitment, mutual respect, tolerance, maturity and endurance are other main factors that matter most in marriage.
Reacting on Facebook, @Prince Daniel Cyrus revealed “Love has never been enough, there’s more to marriage, respecting each other’s space is the most indispensable ingredient in marriage. Many couples are out of love but they are still managing each other, this is because they respect and cherish each other’s space. love doesn’t keep a marriage.”
“It takes so much to make a marriage work, not just love”, Marian Ebi opined.

Still reacting on Facebook, Olaoye Opeyemi also opined that understanding and tolerance is an important factor for marriage. “Love is not enough but understanding and tolerance are also part”, he said.
OluwaFemi J. Olagunju also commented that “Commitment to marriage, Maturity, Steady Finance, Honesty, Good Upbringing, Psychological wellbeing and good health are more important than love.
A marriage can in fact be successful without love (at the beginning) but if there’s love and most of what I mentioned isn’t available, the marriage will collapse.”
Philip C Ishie also reacted, “Love is never enough…”
You’ll need massive amounts of tolerance and patience for it to work oh… And have money, but money isn’t what’s keeping it these days. Even gate man wen no get shi shi, dy wipe oga wife back to back.
There be see finish, there be some tired weird days, there be some days where arguments erupts. Your reaction to them tends to keep it burning.”
