Offa banks’ ‎robberies: IGP special squad nabs 2 most wanted suspects

TWO of the most wanted gang leaders in connection with the recent multiple bank robberies in the ancient town of Offa, Kwara State have been arrested.

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday by the Force Public Relations Officer, FPRO ‎ACP. Jimoh Moshood.

According to the FPRO, the duo were arrested at different locations in Oro town and an unnamed spot within the state by the Operatives of the Inspector General of. Police, IGP Special Squad, Code-named “IGP- Intelligence Response Team” promptly deployed to the state and other neighbouring states in the wake of the incident.

‎ “Following the publication of the pictures of the Offa Banks robberies in the media, we have been getting. Several credible leads from the members of the Public, as a result, the. IRT teams deployed by the IGP to Kwara, Ondo, Osun, Oyo and Ekiti states, we’re able to arrest two more gang leaders in deadly bank robberies.”

‎‎According to him, ‎”the arrest of these two gang leaders have brought to 22 suspects arrested so far by the Nigeria Police Force in connection to the Offa Banks Robbery.

“The two suspects have confessed to the crime and admitted to the various criminal roles they played in the Offa banks robbery.

“They will be charged to court on completion of investigation.

“The Nigeria Police Force is deeply appreciating members of the Public and other patriotic Nigerians for the timely information leading to the arrest of most of the 22 suspects now in Police custody.

“Protection of the informant will be guaranteed by the Police and handsome rewards in addition to the pledge of Five Million (N5,000,000) by Kwara State Government await anyone whose information leads to the arrest of these wanted suspects

“While the Nigeria Police Force, once again commiserate with the Government and people of Kwara State, most particularly the people of Offa, the Force will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that all the perpetrators of the Offa Banks Robbery are rounded up and be prosecuted “
