FORMER President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has been described as absolutely relevant, both to the present and future of the country, and not a dead horse as being implied in some quarters.
Othman Shodipe-Dosunmu, Special Adviser, Political Matter to former Deputy National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, said this in reaction to statement credited to Chief Duro Onabulo, a former spokesperson to former military president, Gen eral Ibrahim Babangida.
Onabule was reported to have implied that Obasanjo was a dead horse, while condemning the historical significance and the leadership relevance of the former president.

Shodipe-Dosunmu described the “arbitration” by IBB’s ex-aide as “biased, localised, untrue, unreflective of reality.”
“Obasanjo is not a dead horse as Onabule viciously implied. He is a treasured son of the Yorubaland. He is the foremost rallying point of the Nigerian Union. He represents the best of the Nigerian ideal. He is resolved upon the Nigerian unifying salvage. He is not detained by tribe or tongue. He looms most majestically as a primal arbiter of our collective fortunes,” Shodipe-Dosunmu said.
He said the former president was a hero and an icon who meant well for the country, stressing that he was indifferent to tribe and tongue, adding that Obasanjo “is woven in Nigeria’s collective redemption.”
