In an address, Governor Obaseki informed his new commissioners to learn skills in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) because his administration will run on e-governance.
Obaseki urged them to take advantage of the state government training facilities for them to catch up with ICT as the use of technology would make their jobs easier.
Obaseki warned the new commissioners that there was no room for corruption in his administration and now was the time to think of accumulating wealth.
The governor also reminded them that they were picked by their respective local government areas as he had no hand in their selection.
Obaseki urged them to work towards boosting the state internally generated revenue anchored on probity, accountability and use of technology.
He told the new commissioners that achievements recorded in the next four to eight years would lay the foundation for the future of the state.
He said, “Your people have chosen you to come and serve. They have not asked you to come to Government House to make money. This is a call to service. This is not the time to accumulate wealth.
“Some of us will be worse off financially than when we came to government house. Edo people expect the best from you. You are coming at a time of low financial situation.”
