Obasanjo, Secondus in closed-door meeting in Abeokuta

Published by

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is in a closed-door meeting with the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

It was not clear at the time of this report why the party leadership led by the National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, is having the session with the former president who famously denounced his membership of the party and publicly tore his membership registration card.

However, given the recent leadership crisis in the main opposition party, Secondus has ostensibly launched consultations with stakeholders as the party prepares for its National convention slated for October.

The party leadership has made a similar visit to former military President, General Ibrahim Babangida, in his hilltop mansion in Minna, Niger state.
