Oba Yoruba of Kano felicitates with Muslims, eulogises Gov Yusuf

The Yoruba Oba of Kano, Alhaji (Dr.) Murtala Alimi Otisese, has urged the Muslim faithful to continue putting into practice the virtues and lessons learned during the just-concluded Ramadan fasting period.

Oba Otisese stated that the month of Ramadan is like a university for Muslims, where they undergo yearly training to acquire moral etiquettes that shape their lives in the right direction after its conclusion.

This message was contained in a statement signed by Oba Yoruba in Kano, a copy of which was made available to the press in Kano on Wednesday.

According to him, righteousness, brotherhood, endurance, feeding the needy, prayers, and recitation of the Glorious Quran are values that Muslims firmly hold during the month, bringing them closer to their Creator.

He emphasised that after Ramadan, people are expected to continue practicing these cherished virtues throughout the remaining months of the year to seek forgiveness for their past sins from Allah, the Almighty.

“On this auspicious day, I extend heartfelt Sallah felicitations to His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, members of the State Executive Council, and the entire people of Kano, as they celebrate the serene Eid-el-Fitr festivities.

He urged the Yoruba residents in the state to continue contributing positively to the development of the community where they reside.

Oba Yoruba also encouraged the people to always offer necessary prayers for the sustenance of the prevailing peace in the state.

Furthermore, he reminded Yoruba residents not to forget their roots, as they would eventually return to their respective states of origin. Hence, it is essential to strive for accommodation wherever they choose to reside.
