Oba Tejuoso reconciles African Church members after two years of leadership tussle

Published by

The end may have come to the leadership crisis that rocked the 190-year-old African Church since 2019 following the intervention of the Osile of Oke-Ona, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso.

Aggrieved members of the church were reconciled on Friday at a reconciliation meeting organised held at the behest of Oba Tejuoso at the Egba Diocese, Abeokuta area of Ogun State.

It will be recalled that the crisis started in April 2019 when the Primate of the church, Bishop Emmanuel Udofia was asked to vacate his office by May 2019 at the time he would have turned 60 years old. This led to the emergence of Bishop Julius Abbe as the church’s new primate.

A communique issued at the end of the four-hour meeting noted that Udofia would resume on September 1, 2021, as the Primate of the church and will retire in May 2022 after which Bishop Abbe’s tenure as primate would begin.

The communique was read by the General Secretary of the church, Eddy Orogun.

Orogun noted that each party will produce a seven-man committee to consider a written proposal from each side of the aggrieved members.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after the meeting, Oba Tejuoso said the committees will present their reports which will be harmonised at a meeting in Abuja on August 26, 2021.

Oba Tejuoso said he was inspired by the Holy Spirit to mediate among the aggrieved parties, adding that “without God, there is nothing anybody can do. Once God is there, you can be sure it will succeed.”

Bishop Abbe also said it is the will of God that made the church reunite.

He added that: “By the grace of God the church has reunited and become one, the African Church becoming one means we have come out of this problem bigger and better.”

The Dangers In Mixing Toilet Cleaner With Bleach

Few weeks ago, Eniola Oyemolade, a journalist, decided to get creative while cleaning, by mixing a toilet cleaner and a bleach together. She did this with the thought that if one product works, mixing it with another would make it even better.

Unknowing to her, Mixing bleach with toilet cleaner creates a poisonous gas that can cause adverse health reactions, including death.

“After the mixture, I started feeling a burning sensation in my throat and I had to leave the room because the odour was really bad too,” she said.Oba Tejuoso reconciles African Church members after two years of leadership tussle
