The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasheed Ladoja, has affirmed his commitment towards eradicating drug abuse among youths in Ibadan.
Ladoja said this on Thursday while receiving the delegation of the alumni members of the Fiditi Grammar School Old Students Association (FIGSOSA).
He frowned at the use of hard drugs among youths, adding that all Mogajis must sanitise their family houses.
The monarch stated that to achieve that, all mogajis must sleep in their family houses at least twice a week.
The monarch appreciated the team of the alumni for the visit, and said that his duty as Olubadan is to bring more development to Ibadanland, adding that he is ready to be in the realm of service to the people of Ibadanland.
He further stated that he is ready to give more support to education, just as he had done during his administration as a governor.
“I am ready to be in the realm of service to the people of Ibadanland. I will coordinate development for Ibadanland and ensure that drug abuse is eradicated.
“All Mogajis must sanitise their family houses and ensure that all youths in their family houses do away with hard drugs,” he said.
Earlier, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the group, Dr Olatunde Oloko, had stated that the alumni is proud of the monarch for his contributions to the education sector.
He stated that the alumni had decided to pay a visit to the monarch for his numerous contributions to the alma mater during his administration as the governor of the state.
“We have come on behalf of all the members of the alumni to felicitate with the new Olubadan, and appreciate him for his contributions to our alma mater during his administration as the governor of the state,” he said.
