The Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’ Edo Uku-Akpolokpolo Oba Ewuare II, has charged the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to put in place a security strategily to check illegal migration of armed men, unsuspecting terrorists and cross border illegal arm smuggling around the various nation’s borders.
Oba Ewuare N’Ogidigan II gave the charge when he received the Assistant Controller General of NIS, Zone G, Mrs Didi Adaezee, and top officers of the NIS at his palace in Benin.
Omo N’Oba noted with that the Benin Palace was collaborating with the state government to making youths in Edo State self reliant through agro businesses and other ventures.
The nonarch added that the free trade zone at Galegele and others, including the proposed industrial estate to be established across the seven local government areas of the Bini kingdom and others were parts of measure being put in place to check the menace of illegal migration and trafficking.
The Royal Father used the opportunity to advise Ijaw and Istekiri groups in Ovia North East Local Government Area to embrace peace and accept the Supreme Court judgement on the matter in order to
Fast-track economic growth in the area.
The visiting Assistant Controller General of NIS, Zone G, Mrs Didi Adaezee, had earlier intimated the  Oba that she was at his palace to pay homage as well as to seek  royal blessings
The zonal controller of immigration said it was worrying that Edo State was ahead of other states in terms of illegal migration and trafficking to foreign countries.
Mrs Adaezee, who spoke on the way out of the challenge, stated that agriculture, skill accusations and establishment of industries were key in curtailing the problems.
