OAAN reiterates commitment to ‘truly’ redefining OoH

The leadership of the Out-of-Home Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (OAAN) has assured that one of its priorities is to truly redefine and reposition the Out of Home sub-sector to enable it serve the positive interests of stakeholders.

The association’s President, Mr Sola Akinsiku, gave the assurance in Lagos, at a media parley to announce plans for the 39th edition of the association’s Annual General Meeting/ Conference, scheduled for August in Ibadan.

Akinsiku stated that for the industry, especially the out-of-home subsector to remain relevant, it has become imperative for practitioners to constantly innovate to enable them be in sync with the present-day trend in the industry.

According to him, the theme of the event, ‘Redefining OOH Media in Nigeria: The Practice, The Business and Value Creation’, stemmed from the desire to constantly and regularly review and examine the out-of-home media ecosystem in line with prevailing exigencies in order to make it continuously relevant.

He added that the association will be enlisting one of the industry’s foremost practitioners, the former Chairman, of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), now Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), and Chairman/Chief Executive Prima Garnet Africa, Mr Lolu Akinwunmi, as the Keynote Speaker at the event.

The AGM, he added, will also afford the leadership of the association to give the scorecard of its activities since taking over in the past one year, and also unveil its policy directions in the next one year.

Some of the dignitaries expected at the event, he stated, are: the Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde; the Director General Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Dr. Lekan Fadolapo and Heads of the Advertising Sectoral Groups (HASG).
