The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kwara State has conducted its first quarter of the 2024 health initiative for rural dwellers (HIRD) program in the Idofian community of the state.
While declaring the program open on Thursday, the NYSC state coordinator, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa Joshua, mentioned that the HIRD program was designed by the scheme for rural dwellers to have access to free medical care, emphasizing that “Health is wealth.”
The NYSC coordinator, emphasizing that the scheme was established for unity and national development, added that free medical care is part of the scheme’s contribution to national development and service to humanity.
He urged members of the community to take advantage of the program to improve their medical status.
The Oludofian of Idofian, His Royal Highness, Oba Muhammad Ademola, who was represented by one of his chiefs, Alhaji Balogun Disu, expressed appreciation for the kind gesture extended by the NYSC to their community. He encouraged all villagers to cooperate with the corps’ medical personnel and make use of medications administered to them as instructed.
