NYSC appeals for improved corp members welfare, security in Anambra

Anambra State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator, Mr Kehinde Aremu-cole has appealed for improved welfare and security of Corps members in Anambra state.

Aremu-cole made the appeal on Wednesday during his meeting with Head of Service of Aguata council area and the Traditional ruler of Ekwulobia kingdom.

He urged the Head of Service, Sir Jaja Nwankwo to inaugurate an NYSC Local government Committee in order to end the spate of observed lapses in welfare and security of Corps members in Area.

He also appealed to the council authorities to harness and properly channel the creative energy of the youths for productive ventures, while in their community.

Earlier in a separate meeting with the traditional ruler of Ekwulobia and Chairman of Aguata Traditional rulers council, Igwe Chukwuka Onyeneke, the Coordinator solicited for his support in ensuring that Corps members in the area have adequate welfare package and security.

In his response, the Head of service assured the coordinator that the council would always be at the service of the corps members and disclosing that they have put in place measure to make their stay comfortable in community.

According to him, the council will always go for improved welfare and security of youngsters.

In his own, the traditional ruler assured the Coordinator that Corps members posted to the community would be adequately protected, while their welfare will also be enhanced.

The Coordinator was accompanied during the visit by the Assistant Director in charge of Press and Public Relations Mrs Anuli Moloku, His personal Assistant Mr Godwin Okomah and Local government Inspector of Aguata Mrs Ilukwe Chinelo Lgbokwe, among others.
