THE NuSTREAMS Concepts, owners of NuSTREAMS Conference and Culture Centre has organised the first South-West eCommerce Summit in partnership with Bank of Industry (BoI) to improve the use of e-commerce in the South-West.
The event tagged “The Future Started Yesterday and We’re Already Late” is scheduled to hold between March 26th and March 28th, 2018 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
In an interview with Tribune Online, the CEO of NuSTREAM Concepts, Mr Francis E. Madojemu said: “The explosion in the use of electronic commerce (e-commerce) by the business sector has been tremendous since its inception only a few years ago,”
He said the ease of transaction and widening markets are factors that make e-commerce solutions more attractive.
Justifying the theme of the summit, Madojemu said that the benefits of e-commerce are yet to be fully explored in the South-West except in Lagos State where there is Yabacon Valley, a nickname of an area in the state analogous to Silicon Valley, California, United States.
Also, Madojemu disputed the fact that funding is the main problem many technology ideas never kicked-off.
“I think reducing this to funding rather than a culture of innovation and creative problem solving is missing the boat.”
“Technology is not smartphones or computers. It is doing something better, faster and more efficiently,” He said.
BoI which is one of the sponsors of the programme said it is ready to sponsor participants for the paid section of the summit which involves training and seminars. However, other sections of the summit are free.
