The President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Tajudeen Baruwa, has commiserated with the victims of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack which occurred in Kaduna last Wednesday.
The NURTW boss in a statement released in Abuja on Monday, described the attack as unfortunate and while praying for the repose of the soul of the dead wished those who sustained various degrees of injury speedy recovery.
“I commiserated with the families who lost their loved ones in the Kaduna- Abuja train attack and I pray to God grant them the fortitude to bear the loss,” Baruwa said.
Baruwa also greets Muslims on the commencement of the Ramadan fast urging them to continue to live up to the tenets of their faith through acts of charity, kindness and generosity, adding that they should also maintain peaceful co-existence with their neighbours.
“Islam is a religion of peace that upholds the values of tolerance and mutual co-existence without a place for hatred and violence and we should remain guided by this principle,” he said.
Baruwa also urged the Muslim community to use the occasion to pray for the unity and well-being of the country.
