The leadership crisis within the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has taken a turn for the worse, with loyalists of embattled National President Alhaji Tajudeen Baruwa condemning the continued stay in office of Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo.

According to the Oyo State chairman of the NURTW, Comrade Abideen Ejiogbe, MC Oluomo’s refusal to step down despite a court ruling removing him from office is a “slap on the judiciary”.

Ejiogbe accused the Southwest Council Chairmen of the Union of defending MC Oluomo’s illegal occupation of the National President position.

The NURTW national leadership has maintained that MC Oluomo’s imposition as National President is illegal and unconstitutional.

The union has taken its grievances to court, and the judiciary has ruled in its favour.

Despite this, MC Oluomo remains in office, sparking widespread condemnation from within the union.

Ejiogbe called on the general public to reject this attempt to hijack the union, urging members to remain calm and focused as they continue to fight for justice and democracy within the union.

The leadership crisis within the NURTW shows no signs of abating, with tensions running high between rival factions.
