THE Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK), is set to convocate 30,000 graduands of the institution from 2008 to 2016 academic session on Saturday, May 6, 2017.
The Vice Chancellor of university, Professor Muhammed Mainoma who disclosed this to newsmen during a press conference in Keffi on Thursday, said, the graduands comprises of 21,442 undergraduates and 8,270 postgraduate students.
He explained that, between 2008 to 2016 session, the university has graduated 53 first class students adding that, Suleiman Yakubu of Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture emerged the overall best graduand of the institution.
The Vice Chancellor who also disclosed the growth profile of the institution, said the institution rose from 3 faculties as at the time of take-off to 7 faculties in 2017.
He added that, academic programmes at undergraduate level rose from 19 in 2002 to 54 in 2017.
Professor Mainoma, however, outlined some of the challenges of the university to include; funding, admission, labour unrest and examination malpractice.
