NSE Ibadan empowers undergraduates with skills on data analysis

THE Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Ibadan branch, has empowered some selected undergraduates from tertiary institutions in Oyo State with intense training on Python for data analysis.

The training, according to NSE Ibadan, was held in memory of two engineers and past chairmen of the branch who have left an indelible mark on the engineering profession. They are the late Sam Adeleke FNSE and Late Prince Adedamola Falade-Fatila FNSE.

NSE Ibadan noted that the two past chairmen were not only giants in their field but also mentors, visioners and leaders who believed in the power of knowledge and importance of nurturing young talents.

On the opening day of a two-day training held on the premises of NSE Ibadan branch located at Akobo, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Chairman, NSE Ibadan branch, Ibraheem Folarin Bello, said that: “Python has become a cornerstone in the world of programming and data analysis and mastering it opens up a world of opportunities in various sectors including engineering, finance, healthcare and other sectors of the economy.”

Bello charged the participants to make judicious use of the knowledge acquired during the training, sating that: ”The knowledge you gain here is not just for your personal growth, but also for you to contribute to the development of our community and country at large.”

Wife of late Prince Adedamola Falade-Fatila, Mrs Olayinka Alagbe Falade-Fatila, who addressed the gathering virtually from the United Kingdom, said:”

I appreciate the NSE Ibadan branch for putting this training together in memory of my husband. My husband was someone who loved to impart on the younger ones. He lived his life to gain from the elders. To the students, make use of the opportunity that is being given to you. My husband as a young man broke many barriers. So, I admonish The students to emulate this.”

Son of Late Sam Adeleke, Mr Fisayo Adekeke, while speaking on behalf of the family, expressed gratitude to the NSE Ibadan for organising the training in memory of his father, while assuring the family’s support for the branch when the need arises.
