GOVERNOR Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant for the 2019 Presidential election has said the North West is very important for any presidential candidate.
This was even as he urged party members to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC).
Speaking in Kaduna on Monday when he addressed the PDP North West delegates, he said, he was in Kaduna to inform the delegates that he has joined the presidential race.
The Governor who said he was the candidate to beat in the race sought for their support during the primary election.
He urged PDP delegates to ensure that supporters of the party in the zone acquire their PVC’s before the end of August being the dateline given by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to him, the North West Zone was the first zone, he was visiting to declare his presidential ambition, because of the importance of zone, adding: over 18 million votes in 2015 presidential poll came from the seven states that made up this zone.

“In fact, the zone is very important to any presidential candidate.
The Governor added that the PDP is expecting the votes from the zone to surpass that of 2015 elections by least two million votes in the 2019 presidential poll.
The North West Zonal Vice Chairman of the PDP, Ibrahim Kazaure, the Party’s National Secretary, Umar Ibrahim Tsauri State Chairmen and Secretaries of the party in Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa, Zamfara, Kebbi, Sokoto and Katsina were among those who attended the event.
