A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, Mr Daniel Musa, has expressed displeasure over the scheduled time for the party’s zonal consultative forum meeting.
Nigerian Tribune reports that the APC zonal coordinator and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, had scheduled the party’s zonal meeting for Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
Mr Daniel Musa described the scheduled meeting time as a disregard for Christianity and a sign of disrespect towards Christian members of the party in the region.
He expressed his dissatisfaction while addressing journalists in Jalingo. Musa lamented the coordinator’s decision, noting that the meeting time would clash with worship hours when most Christian members of the party would be in their various worship centres.
While describing the timing as deliberate, Musa urged Governor Buni to consider the unity of the party, respect members’ religious beliefs, and reschedule the meeting for another day, outside worship periods.
“The scheduled zonal meeting of our party is a total disrespect for Christianity, and the Christian members of the APC in the Northeast region.
“The governor of Yobe State Mai Mala Buni, who is the Coordinating Chairman of APC in the Northeast, has convened a consultative forum meeting of the party for Sunday the 15th June 2025 by 11 am. This decision may seen by many as an oversight but I want to tell Nigerians that it’s a deliberate decision and I want it corrected for the interest of unity in the party.
