NOMAL mourns Pa Adebanjo, Edwin Clark

The Northern Majority Alliance (NOMAL) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of revered Afenifere leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, and the leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, Chief Edwin Clark, who died four days apart at the ages of 96 and 97, respectively.

In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Ibrahim Bunu, the group described Pa Adebanjo and Chief Edwin Clark as statesmen who co-led the South and Middle Belt Leaders Forum (SMBLF) and tirelessly advocated for justice, equality, human rights, and an egalitarian society.

The group emphasized that their exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to Nigeria are worthy of emulation by both those in government and the younger generation. It described them as pillars of vision, fatherly figures, and role models who dedicated their lives to the ideals of democracy, good governance, and the fight for a just and equitable Nigeria.

“Both of them contributed extensively beyond politics into the legal profession, education, and community development. We pray that their goodwill will continue to inspire future generations to strive for a more just and compassionate society,” the statement read.

Extending its condolences, the Northern Majority Alliance expressed its deepest sympathies to the people of the South-West, South-South, and the entire nation, as well as all those mourning the loss of these distinguished statesmen.
