Nollywood stars mourn veteran actor, Mudashiru Olabiyi ‘Bobo B’s death

Following actor Mr Latin’s announcement of the death of veteran actor, Alhaji Mudashiru Olabiyi also known as  ‘Bobo B’, Nollywood stars have also shared their tributes on social media.

Mr Latin, who is the the president of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), took to his official Instagram page on the night of October 16, 2024.

Describing his death as a great loss to the creative industry, Mr. Latin paid tribute to the veteran actor, commending his strong dedication, leadership, and contributions to TAMPAN being the National Secretary of the association during his lifetime.

“It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the passing of our esteemed National Secretary, Alhaji Mudashiru Olabiyi, who departed from us today, 16th of October, 2024,” Mr. Latin posted.

“This is a tremendous loss not only to our association but also to the entire creative community. His dedication, leadership, and contributions have left an indelible mark on our organisation, and his absence will be deeply felt.”

In his message, Mr. Latin urged the public and colleagues to keep Olabiyi’s family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

As the news spread, many Yoruba actors took to the comment section to express their condolences.

Seyi Edun wrote, “RIP sir,” while Faithia Williams responded with a heartfelt, “Hmmm Bobo B Ha.”

Doyin Amid added, “May your gentle soul rest in peace,” and Basirat Biobaku said, “Ha OMG May his soul rest in peace.”

Other industry colleagues also expressed the loss with heartfelt comments.

Olaore commented, “OMG, may his soul rest in peace,” and Mr. Shoro said, “It’s well. Rest in peace, sir.”

Official Akinkolapo wrote, “May his soul rest well,” while Yeye Abidemi Olukuewu concluded with, “Hmmm May his soul rest in peace. Great actor.”
