Nollywood Actress, Akinola Yusroh aka Damilola Royal, has said that Nollywood will be need funding from the government for it to produce better movies.
The actress who said this in a recent interview argued that there are no bad stories in Nollywood and that only lack of funds to implement is the reason why some times the quality of the movie is poor.
She also called on the government to assist the sector with grants and loans opportunities that producers can access to fund their projects.
The actress who is an indigene of Osun State while speaking on how the government can use Nollywood to create jobs said “Youth can tap into opportunities in the movie industry to become self employed. So many opportunities exist before and behind the camera, from acting to cinematography, script writing, editing, costume design and many more.
“The government can motivate the youth by investing in the industry via grant and one digit loan because doing that will even help government to create more employment through our industry”.
During the interview Ms Akinola revealed that she has an upcoming project coming but will keep mute about it for now for reasons personally known to her.
She promised that when it’s time to unveil it everybody will definitely know and hear about it.
