It said the person in question was an ex-corp member who belonged to the 2016 Batch ‘B’ (Stream One) and has since successfully completed the National Service.
In a statement issued by the management in Abuja on Thursday, the scheme said findings showed that the quarantine was based on suspected contact with an infected person, but the result of test carried out on the ex- Corps member eventually came out negative.
“We wish to assure parents, guardians and the rest of the public that no serving Corps member in Benue State is quarantined for Monkey Pox at the moment.
“Management further assures that the NYSC and authorities in the health sector are promoting awareness on Monkeypox and other diseases among Corps members, especially through pamphlets that are published and distributed by the Scheme.
“We wish our Corps members safe stay in all service locations nationwide,” the statement reads.
