No resurgence of human factory in Ibadan — Police

Police have dispelled rumours over the resurgence of a human factory at the Soka area of the Ibadan North East local government area.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo Command, CSP Adewale Osifeso, was quoted in a statement as submitting that the footage being circulated on social media was misleading.

It was stated that the footage being circulated on social media was that of the incident that happened in the area a decade ago.

Clarifying what it described as misleading information, it was stated, “The Oyo State Police Command wishes to clarify the misinformation circulating on social media regarding the resurgence of a decade-old footage displaying gory details of human remains discovered at an abandoned warehouse within the Soka Area under Ibadan North East Local Government.

“The treated footage, which captured a series of unfortunate incidents at the time, led to escalated investigations, resulting in a deliberate upgrade of the state’s security architecture.

“Following this, the Oyo State Police Command, in conjunction with its sister services and neighboring commands, has adopted impregnable security measures to prevent a recurrence of the dark past.

“The Oyo State Police Command passionately appeals to members of the public to refrain from spreading unverified and incorrect information capable of creating panic and disrupting public order in the State, as there will be strict sanctions for defaulters, regardless of association or affiliation’
.
