NNPP denies Kwankwaso’s planned defection to APC

Published by

The Kano State Chairman of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Alhaji Hashimu Dungurawa, has described the speculated impending defection of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a fabricated lie by expired politicians.

Alhaji Dungurawa, while speaking to the press on Friday in reaction to the statement by the APC State Chairman, Prince Abdullahi Abbas, who told newsmen at a press conference that Senator Kwankwaso had concluded arrangements to defect to their party, said the APC had already collapsed and lost political focus.

He argued that it was ironic and unfair for the APC to claim that Senator Kwankwaso would join a dying political party, when patriotic citizens were patiently waiting for him to take over Aso Rock in the 2027 general election.

According to him, “The teeming masses have already fed up with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, because of his unfriendly and various harsh economic policies he has introduced, which have made life unconscionable, adding that the electorate will never cast votes for him in 2027.”

Dungurawa further stated that, given the laudable projects introduced by the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, the people were convinced that if Senator Kwankwaso wrestled power from President Tinubu, he would salvage the country for the better.

According to him, “Kwankwaso does not need to consult anyone before making any political decision, but emphasised that there are no plans for defection.

“We have no business with APC, and do not have any intention to defect,” Dungurawa said, dismissing the rumours as mere mischief.

He described the APC’s claims as baseless and motivated by desperation.

He predicted that the APC would lose ground in the forthcoming general elections, as Nigerians are suffering under its administration.
