Nine alumni from the Faculty of Law at Lagos State University (LASU) have been appointed as judges of the Lagos High Court.
These appointments were part of a larger group of 13 judges recently inducted into the Lagos State High Court.
The announcement, made on LASU’s official X handle, highlights that this is the highest number of alumni appointed as judges at one time in the university’s history.
The newly appointed judges are:
LASU’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olatunji-Bello, congratulated the new judges, noting that their appointments are a testament to their hard work, sacrifice, and dedication to the legal profession.
She emphasised that their achievements reflect the strong foundation of excellence provided by the Faculty of Law at LASU.
Prof. Olatunji-Bello also urged the judges to serve with integrity and the fear of God in their new roles.
In February, ten graduates from LASU’s Faculty of Law achieved first-class degrees in the Nigerian Law School final bar examinations.
