Nigerian women urged to learn skills to combat poverty

Nigerian women have been advised to acquire skills to boost their family income during these challenging times.

Governor and Convener of Friends of Tinubu Shettima, Mrs. Bridget Torbua Igbauke, stated that Tinubu’s political ideology remains committed to alleviating poverty among Nigerians.

Addressing the press in Abuja, Igbauke expressed concern for Nigerian women who daily grapple with the challenges of managing their families. She urged them to engage in the many poverty alleviation programs introduced by the President.

Igbauke emphasized that only a woman with a marketable skill, no matter how small, can navigate the current economic challenges. She encouraged all Nigerian women to acquire a skill.

According to her, “We, Nigerian women and youth, without exception, are ready to embrace the developmental strides of the Renewed Hope Agenda of our President. We must do this to break the cycle of poverty in our families.

“We are prepared to change our mindset, our thinking, and our attitude towards learning a skill today.

“The President inherited numerous issues. As Nigerians, we understand that the country has long been burdened with many problems.

“We cannot expect a president to solve all these problems in one year or assume that he can do it alone. Nigeria’s problems must be addressed by Nigerians, the President, and all of us.

“Poverty can be either voluntary or involuntary. If you stay at home and refuse to learn a skill, it will be difficult to overcome poverty.

“We have come together to ensure that every woman learns a skill. When you are skilled and apply that skill, you can earn a wage. Earning a wage leads to profit, and with profit, you can bid farewell to poverty.

“Women must learn a skill and engage in financial activities to build their future.

“We encourage women to participate in these programs to escape poverty and achieve prosperity.

“We urge all women to come forward, learn a skill, and use it to earn money, support their families, and contribute to their husbands’ well-being,” Igbauke said.

She added that Nigerian women should utilize all available resources to break the chains of poverty, which have been openly addressed by the Tinubu administration, regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender, or creed.
