Music video director, Mr Greene Abdulazeez Oladimeji, professionally known as Abula, has noted that his colleagues are gradually gaining foreign recognition in the entertainment space worldwide.
Abula, the son of a journalist who started his video directing career at the age of 18, owns a video production company, The Greenade and has shot music videos for top A-list artists such as Olamide, Tubaba, Adekunle Gold, among others. He is also the fiancee to popular comedienne Taaooma.
Speaking in a recent interview on the future of music video production between foreign directors and home-based directors, he said “it’s happening gradually. Big shout out to our artists, they are gradually putting us on the map. It’s happening to the music producers already and I’m sure next in line are we the video directors. More amazing collaborations are surely on the way.”
The alumni of Lagos State University also noted that music video production has now become sustainable for content creators once they get the right clients.
“I will say it’s a very profitable business, especially when you have the right set of clients. It is something you can depend on, in the long run,” said Abula.
Disclosing his plans in time to come, Abula, a short film director, noted that he would add full movie production to his portfolio soonest.
