The oldest private newspapers in Nigeria once again added another feather to its cap as Nigerian Tribune was awarded the Newspaper of the Year Award by City People Magazine.
Speaking during the 22nd City People Awards For Excellence on Sunday in Lagos, the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, Seye Kehinde, said the award is in appreciation of TRIBUNE’s remarkable achievements in the media sector.
“It is an evening of awards and celebrations. The awardees are people who have excelled in their various areas of endeavours. We have been celebrating achievers in their various sectors and we are here to celebrate with them,” he said.

In another feat achieved by the newspaper, its Managing Director, Edward Dickson, was awarded the ‘Media Personality of the Year’ by the organisers of the award ceremony.
Dickson was described as the very dynamic leader who, despite the advent of new media, has been able to weather the storms and position the company as a leading newspaper in Nigeria.
Founded in 1949, African Newspapers of Nigeria Plc, publishers of Tribune Titles (Nigerian Tribune, Saturday Tribune and Sunday Tribune) has been able to imbibe current trends and remains relevant all through the seasons.
