A second year law student at Osun State University College of Law, Jacob Sule has founded a Non-Governmental Organisation, iRead To Live Initiative to promote quality education and literacy globally.
According to him, his action was to contribute his quota to help Nigeria to attain the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Speaking at the launch ceremony in Osun yesterday, Jacob stated that education is a powerful tool for making positive changes in the world.
He said, “I am happy to have been the founder of this NGO. We have a lot of jobs on our hands but with the support of well-meaning Nigerians we will achieve our set goals.
“I am dedicated to serving humanity by giving back to society by promoting and enlightening the community on the importance of Education, also to Supplement Government efforts in achieving the Sustainable Development Goal of Quality Education in Nigeria and inspiring students to imbibe Reading culture.
Our goal at iRead To Live Initiative will focus on leading policy conversations on education, the right of children and equitable access to education for all.
“As a Non-Governmental Organization, we are focusing on advocating for Quality Education and improved learning conditions in both governments and privately owned Schools.
“I believe education is a powerful tool to change the world for the better. Therefore, everyone must play their part in making a difference by supporting.”
Sule also mentioned that the group would focus on promoting and enlightening the community.
He said, “We will also be working with volunteers to connect the SDGs target by focusing on literacy, civic education, and professional development for teachers.
“ As a team, we are dedicated to serving humanity by giving back to society, promoting and enlightening the community on the importance of education and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals,”
