One of the Nigerian highlife masters, Prince Chijioke Mbanefo, has unveiled a foundation known as the “Prince Chijioke Mbanefo Charity Foundation” in Anambra State.
The official unveiling took place at his country home, Atani, in the Ogbaru local government area of the state on June 22, 2024.
Speaking shortly after the unveiling, the highlife guru said the aim is geared towards taking care of widows, orphans, and the less privileged in Nigeria.
According to him, he resolved to set up the foundation as a way of giving back to society, which has been very appreciative of his efforts and contributions to society.
He added that the essence of the foundation was to ensure that widows, orphans, and the less privileged in the country receive succour from him from time to time.
He noted that the foundation will be his own way of establishing his corporate social responsibility to the society that has given so much to him through the music industry for over 25 years, with a record history of over 50 albums in the market.
Mbanefo thanked God for the grace in his life and career.
The chairman of the occasion, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, in his speech, also thanked God for the life of Prince Chijioke Mbanefo, noting that it is rare to see any musician or artist who has this type of interest in the less privileged in Nigeria.
He promised to give him all the necessary support to ensure that he took the benevolence throughout the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria.
The Nigerian Tribune gathered that the benefactor, shortly after the unveiling, doled out over 500 bags of rice and school paraphernalia and also promised to pay tuition fees for indigent students in the area.
