The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was on Monday declared the candidate of All Progressives Congress( APC), Sen. Abdulfatah Buhari, as the winner of Oyo North Senatorial District.
Announcing the result, INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Jonathan Aileru, disclosed that the APC candidate polled 107,703 votes.
He defeated his PDP rival, Mrs Mulikat Adeola-Akande who polled 89,365.

The candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADP), Mr Salaudeen Adeniyi, came third with 45, 225 votes while the candidate of Action Democratic Congress (ADC) Mr Bayo Lawal was fourth with 40,304 votes.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that hundreds of APC supporters were in joyous mood after the declaration.
