The Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria through its General Overseer, Rev. (Dr) Sam Aboyeji, has called on the government at all levels and other stakeholders to partner with the church for national development.
The General Overseer, during a press conference at the Church’s National Office in Lagos, on the occasion of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day anniversary on Tuesday, spoke on Foursquare Gospel Church’s commitment to partner with stakeholders for nation-building.
Aboyeji underscored the importance of civil governance, saying civil government is one of the church’s tenets of Faith. He further advocated for responsible citizenship and active participation in nation-building as citizens of Nigeria.
“Historically, Christianity has played a significant role in shaping societies and continues to impact nation-building efforts by fostering unity and moral integrity. One of the twenty-two Tenets of Faith which we believe in, preach and teach, and are committed to is Civil Government. We opine that as responsible citizens of this great nation Nigeria, we have a duty and an obligation to partner with government at all levels, as well as other patriotic stakeholders in building our dear nation,” he stated.
Speaking on the Church’s 11th annual public lecture scheduled for Tuesday, 8th October 2024 at 62/66 Akinwunmi Street, Alagomeji, Yaba, Lagos, Aboyeji explained that the public lecture which is open to every member of the public irrespective of tribe, race, religion or political affiliation, forms part of the activities preceding the 69th Annual Convention of the church.
Continuing, he disclosed that the chairman of the lecture is the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. ‘Biodun Oyebanji, adding that the guest lecturer, Ibukun Awosika, who is the Founder and Chief Executive of The Chair Centre, will be dissecting the topic: “Leadership In Nigeria and its Impact on the Next Generation.”
“Let me seize the opportunity of this press conference to specially invite the general public to the 69th Annual National Convention of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria which is scheduled to hold by the grace of God from Monday, November 11 – Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Foursquare Campground, Kilometer 75, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ajebo, Ogun State. The theme for this year’s event is GOD OF WONDERS taken from Job 9:10 and Joshua 3:5. Guest ministers who will be declaring the counsel of the God of Wonders at the convention are Rev. Dr. Felix Omobude, General Superintendent of Gospel Light International Ministries and immediate past National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, as well as Pastor Jerry Eze, Lead Pastor of Streams of Joy International, and the convener of New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD). This year’s convention promises to be a time of Refreshing, Revival, Restoration and Renewal, as the God of Wonders without number will manifest greatly in our midst,” he added.
