Pharmaceutical company Novartis, in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Service and the Lagos State Blood Transfusion Service, recently organized a blood donation drive where Novartis employees voluntarily donated blood to save the lives of patients.
The blood donation exercise which took place in Lagos, Ibadan, Enugu and Abuja was organized in celebration of the company’s annual charity day tagged “Novartis Community Partnership Day”. The employees gathered at these locations across the country, also partnering with Garki Specialist Hospital, Abuja and Eastern Nigeria Medical Center, Enugu to bridge the gap between demand and availability of blood for patients needing transfusion.
The voluntary blood donation exercise is a demonstration of the company’s commitment to the health and improved quality of life of the society.
