BISHOP of the Diocese of Ijebu North, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Right Reverend Dr S.G. Kuponu, has called for dedicated efforts by all well-meaning individuals to save the country.
He stated this on Friday in his charge delivered at the first session of the fifth synod, at St. John’s Anglican Church, Oke-Sopen, Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State, which had as its theme: The People That Do Know Their God Shall Be Strong and Do Exploit.
He said: “In our nation today, it is incontrovertible that our sense of crisis daily accumulates. My take on this is that we need an ‘original national ideology,’ that would be well rooted in the basic tenets of true federalism. To achieve this, we need a dedicated , committed, fearless, incorruptible, assiduous, selfless, patriotic and knowledgeable leadership.”
